[Xen-ia64-devel] Irq injection vs event channel: My memo

Hi,
because I think it is decision time, here is a my memo:
We have three choices:
* Bull vIOSAPIC patch cleaned-up [without IRQ sharing] submitted this week
and Intel vIRQ patch submitted when ready.
I think this is the compromise, and this allows my to work on SMP/SMP-g and
driver domains during Intel work.
* Bull vIOSAPIC patch is withdrawn and Intel works on vIRQ.
I think this is the Intel solution. This will avoid left and right turns,
but will also suspend work on SMP-g (because of IPI).
* Bull vIOSAPIC patch cleaned-up and submitted. Intel vIRQ patch delayed.
This is the Bull solution. It will allow progress on SMP/SMP-g and dd, and
will save force to continue working on new features to try to include
Xen/ia64 in the new RH release.
Now, Intel please choose among these choices (or another choice), and I will
accept it.
Tristan.
