Hi Ian,

Thanks for the reply. Please see my feedback.

Yes. Intel developer are looking at the issue.

Dexuan sent out a patch to work around this issue: [PATCH][HVM] Inject
#GP for un-emulated instructions rather than crash guest

We found this issue on some 2 cores machines. When scp a large file (5G)
to Dom0, SMP VISTA HVM might blue screen. If using disk stress tool, the
problem would be more easy to see. The BSOD information is: "a clock
interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated
time interval" with Bug Check 0x101.

Should be not. As ne2k is a optional config for HVM domain vif, so we
also tested it. But found ne2k is not easy to use like RTL 8139.
If so, we could remove the ne2k description in xmexmaple.hvm. :)

Yes. It is HVM domain. We didn't try PV installation. The Qemu window
would disappear, when doing RPM installation.
The special config is "vcpus=2 acpi=1 apic=1 pae=1 memory=1024
blank_disk=5G."

Yes. This is also HVM domain OS installation. It is not same with F8.
The installation kernel would hang. It is a SMP IA32 Fedora7.

Best Regards,
Yongkang You
