I do this:
[ytti@xxxxxxx ~]% ssh root@xxxxxxxxxxx "cat /etc/cron.hourly/ntp-hack"
#!/bin/sh

PATH=/bin

date -s $(date +%H:%M:%S) > /dev/null
[ytti@xxxxxxx ~]%


Ugly, but works for me.
