Hi!

Installing 
 iproute and libatm1
on my minimum debian installation made the network script work properly. It's 
using 'ip' of the iproute package, which itself depends on libatm1. You may 
want to add that to the docs.

Building the sources worked after installing these packages:
libcurl3-dev
libcurl3-dbg
libcurl3
