There certainly shouldn't be an issue with 100Mb/s. Whenever we've seen
this before its been because the Ethernet card has been bad and looses
carrier.

Please can you try moving over to the routed rather than bridged scripts
and see if it still occurs. I think we're going to make routing the
default in 3.0 anyhow.
