[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1179] New: x86_64 dom0 with 32bit guests crash frequentl
http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1179
Summary: x86_64 dom0 with 32bit guests crash frequently
Product: Xen
Version: unstable
Platform: x86-64
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Hypervisor
AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: jpranevich@xxxxxxxxx
I have a shiny HP DL360G5 server with 32GB of RAM running Centos 5.1 and the
stock Xen (3.1/3.0 strange hybrid) that ships with that. (I have been trying
for days to get Xen 3.2 working on this machine, but have completely failed to
get a 64bit Xen RPM or source compilation working.)
I can successfully install a 32-bit guest about 50% of the time. The machine
boot normally, everything is fine, except some point in the install the guest
crashes suddenly without a message.
If I do successfully get a machine installed, I can consistently reproduce the
crash by doing a complicated compilation, for example an "rpmbuild -ba" of the
kernel source RPM.
I'm running out of things to try and I'm hoping that someone has seen this
before. (If it's a Centos issue, just close this and I'll try something else.
But I need some guidance.)
