Binary distributions of kernels do not normally come with initrds as the initrd
will be specific to the linux distribution and hardware. Vendor kernel RPMs make
the initrd at RPM installation time. XenSource RPMs do the same, binary tarballs
do not as the latter is not distribution specific.
