Summary: Hypervisor enters infinite loop at boot with "(XEN) APIC
error on CPU0: 02(02)"
Product: Xen
Version: unstable
Platform: x86
OS/Version: n/a
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: Hypervisor
AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: greenrd@xxxxxxxxxxx
(I reported this on the mailing list a few months ago, and on Red Hat bugzilla,
at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/beta/show_bug.cgi?id=146571 .)
On boot, in the blink of an eye xen gets stuck in a loop, displaying
(XEN) APIC error on CPU0: 02(02)
over and over. Nothing else seems to happen.
This is with the snapshot of xen-unstable of 20050522, as packaged by Fedora.
The following workaround patch has worked for me in the past with previous
releases, although I haven't tried it with this release yet:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/beta/attachment.cgi?id=110399
This is the output of lspci -vvv from within Linux 2.6 running on a Xen patched
with the above workaround patch:
