I am having a very similar problem with Xen 4.1 and Linux version
2.6.39-rc7 running on the latest Slackware.

As soon as the dom0 kernel begins to boot my screen goes blank.

I can still access the system via SSH. I chalked it up to using a
development kernel and may try another version.

I need aes-xts-plain64 support which 2.6.32.x does not include.
