Hello Mark,
I've installed linux-image-virtual with command "sudo aptitude install linux-image-virtual" and updated grub, but after rebooting, the pci device doesn't appears (lspci).
I've seen the dmesg log and nothing about pci frontend devices.

Hello Mark,

I don't really understand your first question.

If it is related with if I use pygrub or dom0 kernel files in the config file from domU, the response is not, I use pygrub.

For the second question, I use this kernel because in dom0 I use CentOS,not Ubuntu.

Hope this clarify your questions.

Besides I told in the first mail, I review dmesg in domU, and the result it looks ok:

Thanks very much.

Try using the linux-image-virtual kernel from standard lucid repos, not the generic kernel from natty-ppa.

Hi all,

I have a problem when from domU I need to configure a network interface.

Kernel driver in use: pciback

Kernel modules: bnx2

domU: paravirtual Ubuntu 10.04  with 2.6.37-020637-generic kernel

Apparently works fine, because I execute from dom0 when domU is created "xm pci-list Ubuntu" and the result is:

domain   bus   slot   func

0x0000  0x09   0x00    0x0

and from domU I execute lspci, it returns:

00:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 Gigabit Ethernet (rev 12)

-------------------

You are using a PPA kernel from dom0. Did you copy over the modules to domU?

What does the PPA kernel provide you that the Lucid kernel can't?
