What problems are you running into?
We're using Xen 4.0 & 4.1 on ubuntu 10.04 with pv-ops xen/2.6.32.x
dom0 and what's pretty close to xen/2.6.37.next for the domU kernel.
You do need to build xen yourself, but there are plenty of 4.0 ubuntu
patches available and 4.1 requires no patches at all as the
Ubuntu/Debian dir structure is a build time option now.

I have no problems installing Xen myself. Problem is Xen with Remus.
Remus required 2.6.18 kernel. This is not compiling or when compiled we
are unable to boot from the kernel. The version we are using is
from the link http://xenbits.xen.org/linux-2.6.18-xen.hg
Problem is not Xen, but its Xen + Remus. We are trying to buid a
fault tolerant system
