I use only xen opensource, about it:
1 blktap support vmdk: http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/blktap or you can
convert it, there tools also in linux
3 you can assigne usb device to domU, also PV usb with last version
6 xen 4 open source http://www.xen.org/products/xen_source.html support over
200 cpu and 1 terabyte of ram if i not mistaken
7 there is a good wiki with continuous improvement:
