OK. Are your guests 32bit or 64bit? 
 
I think 2.6.32.10 has the CONFIG_HIGHPTE fix.. so earlier versions will crash
if CONFIG_HIGHPTE is enabled for 32bit kernels.

No, you're not mad.
pvops *dom0* 2.6.32 kernels require Xen 3.4.3 or Xen 4.0.0.

Vanilla pvops domU kernels from kernel.org don't require any specific new Xen 
version.

Gitco has Xen 3.4.2 rpms.
