In our Xen book [1] it says "The state for <guest name> is blank
because it's between running and blocked states, which means that
it is not in a paused state"

You never mention whether you can access the guest at all or not.
Does it boot up? When you boot with the -c option, does it show anything?

I've copied that xen-users list since they may have more insights.
