CentOS 5.2 and Fedora 8 do have native support for running a system in dom0 mode built in.

If you install CentOS 5.2 it will install kernel-xen-2.6.18, an update (also 2.6.18 but newer) can be obtained using yum update.

As far as I know, Xen can be installed on any Linux system, assuming you don’t mind compiling it yourself and using a 2.6.18 kernel from xen.org.  However, if you want to use Fedora as a host and you want native (repo-based) Dom0 support in a higher kernel version, it would be necessary to use F8, as F9 and F10 do not include Dom0 support.  Regarding documentation, unfortunately, I can’t help you so much with that, though I can tell you that if you don’t mind compiling, xen.org should have plenty of information, and unless you have pretty new hardware, it would be better to use CentOS than Xen.  However, I don’t know what versions of CentOS do and/or don’t have repo-based Dom0 support.

Hi

I'm new to Xen and I have couple of questions :

1. Can Xen be installed on Fedora 9, if yes then can you please re-direct me to appropriate document.

2. If no then till what version of Fedora on which Xen can be installed.

Thanks
Chandra Sekhar
