I also have the same problem.
The problem appears to be the addition off;
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/xen/xend/server/blkif.py
try:
(typ, params) = string.split(uname, ':', 1)
if typ not in ('phy', 'file', 'tap'):
raise VmError(
'Block device must have "phy", "file" or "tap" '
'specified to type')
I can get around it by adding drbd to it but means I have to edit each
dom0 and restart xend.
