Hi all!
I've just upgraded my Dell/32bit system to Ubuntu 7.10 and installed Xen 3.1 from its repos. It finally runs kernel 2.6.22-14-xen. When I boot this kernel something concerning X/gdm goes wrong and it
doesn't start at all giving errors while attempting to log in (see attachments). I can just log in in a console. I tried to restart gdm with no kind of success. Booting kernel 2.6.22-14-generic let me work perfectly with no troubles at all.
I found people having troubles with X at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/68440 but still no solution.
Does anyone of you experienced something similar?
X does work for me. I just installed Xen on Ubuntu 7.10 in VMware. The only thing I had to do was disable the hardware clock init scripts.
I have had a problem with X with an nvidia card, needed to switch to the nv driver. You should check that the module is loading properly for your video card.
Regards, Todd
I post some files in case.
Thanks a lot in advance for any kind of help!!
Emanuele
