Hi, I am using initrd v1.201 and it says -m option is to set the command to make an initrd image. Moreover, -f option is not supported.

If your initrd fails try this removing anything you know you don't need. It got me round an issue with slackware11.0 and 12.0.
mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.18-xen -m jbd:ext3:ide-cd:ide-disk:ide-generic:libata
-f ext3 -r /dev/hda1
