Hi Nico,

Thanks for the suggestion. I managed to solve the problem on Dom0 by disabling the management software implemented in the NIC's flash. It was quite hard to track down the error and there is more written about it on http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-users/2006-11/msg00822.html.

In order to disable the IPMI management (following the instructions on http://mywiki.ncsa.uiuc.edu/wiki/Dell_PE1950_NIC_Firmware_Workaround ) one needs to download the Broadcom NetXtreme dos Utilities and a dos boot disk. Once booted you need to issue

uxdiag -ver

to see the status of the cards and you can turn on and off the IPMI using the mfw flag. Hope this helps other people as well.

Cheers,

Batu.

Hi all,

I am trying to setup Xen on a Dell PowerEdge 2950 system with 2 Xeon Quad core processors under SuSE Enterprise. I did the Xen installation through
Yast and I managed to get images of ttylinux and chaos to boot.

My problem is, when I use netwotk-bridge, Dom0 does not have internet
connection. I also tried network-routed without success.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Cheers,

Batu.
I bet it's your iptables. Turn off iptables and try it, then take a look at some previous threads about how to configure this.
