Apologize in advance if I am ruining the thread; just joined mailing
list. I've been reading the archives and I'm looking for VESA help; this
thread seemed relevant. I am experiencing similar issues and was
wondering if there was a resolution for this issue.

My issue is that under FC6 kernel, X starts fine.
I ensured there were no "WW" or "EE" messages in my X startup without
Xen. With Xen, X cannot start on machine boot.

uname -a (no Xen):
Linux server 2.6.19-1.2895.fc6 #1 SMP Wed Jan 10 19:28:18 EST 2007 i686
athlon i386 GNU/Linux

from failing (with Xen) /var/log/Xorg.0.log:
...
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libvbe.so
(II) Module vbe: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
        compiled for 7.1.1, module version = 1.1.0
