Your installer is probably not correctly detecting the graphics. I've
had that happen with older installation media and newer graphics cards,
especially when the base installation OS didn't have the drivers at all
but newer update kernels did. Which OS are you installing? Why not
install in text mode, and set up the X configuration after it's
installed and running?

Hi
I am a begginer in xen...and i read your post on xen users
list.I have installed a few domU but all in text mode.
I am working on a machine with following config:
Intel 3.06Ghz, 700Mb ram,with Asus motherboard.
I want to install domU in grahics mode (windowsX or so) ...but the
problem is during VM installation it flashes a message "Display
variable not set ...installing in text mode"

It's automatically set to localhost:0 by good installation setups, but
it won't work if it can't find working display configurations.
1)Where to set this display variable ?

2)Is it installing in text mode because i have only one graphics
adapter ...do i need more physical adapters to install VM in X mode

Nah.

3)using VNC ,is it possible to install in Xmode on my machine
configuration...and how to do that?

Should be. Do you have to do an HVM or VT installation?
