Re: [Xen-users] HVM success reports required for wiki
| Strange, I'm on my 3rd machine based on the M2NPV-MX and not a single
HVM issue that wasn't of my own making (like I hadn't installed all
dependencies prior to compiling)
I've only got one of the machines in my possession still so here goes
with its vital statistics:
BIOS 0303
Board revision (not too sure but here's the part number 90-MIB0J0-G0EAYZ)
cpu AMD 3200 (AM2)
Dom0 Distro Ubuntu 6.06 (standard desktop install)
Xen version 3.0.2-2 (from both source and binaries)
DomUs OK WinXPpro / Win2K / IPCOP (2.4 kernel)
DomU fail Win98se (but I didn't exactly make a concerted
effort on this)
I didn't have to do anything clever to make it work beyond doing the
dependencies and running the installer.

Hello,
There seems to be a fair amount of traffic regarding motherboard
HVM compatibility for non-vendor systems. I for one would like a
consistent source of information. So, I've put up a wiki page
for HVM compatible motherboards. Please be
gentle this is my first wiki page.
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/HVM_Compatible_Motherboards
Please consider posting a success report to this thread and I will
compile the information and update the wiki. Alternatively feel free to
update the wiki (both style and info) directly. Please include as much
information (BIOS version MB revision) as you can, and quirks required
to get HVM working. DOM0 base system and DOMU guest systems would also
be nice.
Thanks

Bravo, bravo, bravo.
Thats something a was missing!!!
As many people reported hvm-incompatibility for the Asus M2NPV-VM and
M2NPV-MX boards. I guess they can be listed as broken. Of course they
can be removed from there as soon as someone reports a success, and
maybe a brief report on what he/she did to get it to work.
A little remark on the P5LD2-VM you listed as AMD-hvm-compatible. That
board is a socket 775 board for Intel processors. It also would be
nice to include a short remark on the used processor and the bios
version.
Regards
Andreas
