Hello All,
This is my first post to this list, though I've been following Xen's
development since the beginning (well, after news about it first broke,
anyway). I've been wanting to try it out, and hopefully consolidate a
few servers here, so I finally made the decision to do just that.
I've downloaded the RHEL 4.1 RPMs from the xensource.com website, and
installed the xen-3.0.2.2-86.1_rhel4.1 and
xen-kernel-2.6.16-xen3_86.1_rhel4.1 packages on a CentOS 4.3 box (I
didn't use the glibc RPMs, so I moved /lib/tls/ out of the way). So far
everything is okay (no domU yet, but dom0 is running).
I need the kernel headers for the xen kernel in order to rebuild a few
applications. In the past, I've just installed "kernel-devel" to get
the headers and build stuff, such as Asterisk - no need for the full
kernel tree. However, I didn't find a "xen-kernel-devel" package on the
xensource.com website. I've searched high and low, but my googling is
either sucky, or a kernel headers RPM doesn't exist.
How is everyone else doing it? Are the headers available from
somewhere, or is everyone using the full xen kernel tree? Can a headers
RPM be built from the xen kernel source RPMs?
Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Ranbir
