The section early on about software prerequisites is a little skimpy.
It would be nice if, instead of just a brief list, there was a
sentence or two about what each thing was used for (so if things go
wrong, you have more clues about where to start looking).  In
particular, some things need kernel options enabled, so installing the
user-space packages is not enough.
