   Correct, ia64 doesn't support any 32bit guests and I haven't heard of
anyone thinking of changing that.

   Good question, IIRC I/O is kind of up in the air for big-endian
guests right now.  Dietmar did some patches but got resistance from
upstream.  So for now, not introducing a BE protocol ABI is probably
correct.  Dietmar, do you agree?

   It looks reasonable to me and does give us a little flexibility
should we decide to differentiate based on endian-ness at some point in
the future.  Thanks for thinking of us!
