RE: [Xen-ia64-devel] RE: RE: [PATCH] Patch for loading module
So who is pushing this into the tree? We saw a lot of discussion in Xen-ia64
mailing list without any feedback from Brett, and I believe the better
discussing place is elilo mailing list. XEN will be soon in OSV's distribution,
but we didn't see any signal for this patch to be in Elilo tree. So when OSV
release XEN (XEN/IA64 soon too), this elilo will be excluded. So bad for us.
Also I remembed Brett ever agree to add this feature in 6 months ago. What is
current position, Brett?

I think everyone agrees that the right solution is to get
it into the elilo tree, but that might take awhile,
it will be even longer (maybe years) before an updated
elilo starts appearing in distributions, and in the
meantime the elilo tree will be only source so every
user and developer will need to fetch and build their
own copy of the updated elilo.
We need a solution for the short- and mid-term that is
easy for users.
Dan
