The third patch is only loosely connected (cleanup potential noted
while putting together the other bits), but wouldn't apply without
the former applied.

Patch 1/3: make sort() generally available
Patch 2/3: x86-64: use PC-relative exception table entries
Patch 3/3: x86: link time .data section adjustments
