The DMTF System Virtualization, Partitioning, and Cluster workgroup that is defining the CIM model being implemented by our Open Source Xen CIM providers is still in the draft stages of writing the relevant Virtualization profile documents and CIM MOF files. Some of these will shortly be submitted for formal review to the DMTF Technical Committee, after which they will become formal publically-accessible DMTF standards docs. Until that time, all DMTF Virtualization documents - specifically the MOFs and profile docs describing how to use them - are technically "DMTF Confidential", and hence I will not be able to post them on the XenSource Xen CIM wiki. For this reason alone I would strongly suggest everybody seriously interested in the development of the Open Source Xen CIM providers to join the DMTF System Virtualization, Partitioning, and Cluster workgroup; see http://www.dmtf.org/about/committees/SVPC_Charter.pdf for workgroup details, and http://www.dmtf.org/join for how to join the DMTF.

Sorry for the added hurdle, but I understand that joining the DMTF is not hard and can be done at $0 cost (though if you select one of the paying membership options you get voting rights in the working group, which means we can't ignore you when its convenient... :-). I'll be going thru the existing Xen CIM provider code and the preliminary IBM LTC MOFs next week in more detail, which will not require access to the DMTF profiles or MOFs. But I do expect that we'll start working more and more with the stuff coming out of the DMTF workgroup, so I'd suggest getting your membership sooner rather than later. BTW - some companies already have automatic full (i.e. voting) membership for their employees.

Once you have DMTF membership, the DMTF System Virtualization, Partitioning, and Cluster workgroup homepage and all profile docs, MOFs, meeting notices, etc are located at

http://www.dmtf.org/apps/org/workgroup/redundancy/

Depending on how involved you want to become you have the option of not subscribing to the associated mailing list.

Please email me or post here if you have any questions.
