[Xen-bugs] [Bug 1425] New: VISTA guest doesn't receive an ip address
http://bugzilla.xensource.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1425
Summary: VISTA guest doesn't receive an ip address
Product: Xen
Version: unstable
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Windows
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Guest-OS
AssignedTo: xen-bugs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: p-51d@xxxxxxxxxx
Hi
I installed LINUX Suse 11.1 including XEN 3.3.1_18494_03-1.8 ( x86_64 )on my HP
HDX 18 1190EZ notebook ( Quad core with 4GB RAM and 1GB video Geforce 9600M GT
). All the available patches are downloaded and installed. The default
installation of VISTA as guest didn't receive an ip address. So I checked
Bridging, Routing and NAT, changing the relevant scripts accordingly;
unfortunatelly without success.
Do I use a to new distribution of SUSE ? I allmost didn't see any bug reports
for release 11.1 on the SUSE and XEN webpages... Installing Ubuntu 8.10 with
Virtualbox 2.1.4 worked fine ( guest received ip address through NAT )
Because the XEN virtualisation works much faster, I would prefer to install
XEN... Is this a known bug ? Are there any patches / upgrades ?
Thanks for your help
Kind Regards
Roland
