I have also encountered a similar issue.
Here are the steps I used -
1) Start a Windows guest and pass-through a device.
2) Shutdown the Windows guest.
3) Perform host S3.
4) Resume from host S3.
5) Restart the same Windows guest (did not verify with any other guest).
Result - System hang when executing step #5 above.
